Elizabeth Digby was, according to the British Library Catalogue, " daughter of Sir James Altbam, of Oxehey, Knt., and wife successively of Sir Francis Astley, of Hill-Morton, Knt., of Robert Digby, first Lord Digby of Geashill [ob. 1642], and Sir Robert Barnard [or Bernard] Bart., Serjeant-at-Law."
