Dr. Farhad Khosrokhavar

Farhad Khosrokhavar is Professor at the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales (EHESS) - Cadis, Paris (France) since 1998. He was previously associate professor at EHESS-Cadis (1991-98) and Rockefeller Fellow (1990-91). His research interests include political sociology, sociology of religion, contemporary Islam, Iran.

He has published extensively on Iran and Islam in Europe: Les nouveaux martyrs d’Allah (Paris, Flammarion, 2002); “Postrevolutionary Iran and new social movements”, in Islamic Revolution, political and social transition in Iran since 1979 (Syracuse University Press, 2002, pp.3-18); La recherche de soi, dialogues sur le sujet (with Alain Touraine) (Paris, Fayard, 2000); L’islam des jeunes (en France) (Paris, Flammarion, 1997); Le Foulard et la République (with Françoise Gaspard) (Paris, La Découverte, 1995); “Attitudes of teenage girls to the Iranian Revolution”, in Elizabeth W.
