National Standard for Work Experience

for the National Standard for Work Experience Organisers
in October:
Barking and Dagenham Trident
Ealing EBP
Hertfordshire Careers Service
Lincolnshire and Rutland EBLO
A new assessment was successfully completed by Calderdale
and Kirklees Careers Service.
Work-related Learning and Citizenship
The first in a new series 'Learninhg Activities for
Students 14-19' this publication, edited by Julia Fiehn
and Richard Foweather, is a compendium of 10 simulations
that have been updated to meet new curriculum requirements,
to support teachers deliver aspects of citizenship and work-related
learning.
CEI/Trident publication
CEI is working with Trident to produce a new marketing leaflet
for employers explaining the work-related learning framework,
how they can contribute and what the benefits are.
QCA
Work related learning at
key stage 4: support materials for schools.
This pack includes materials designed to help schools implement
the statutory requirement for work-related learning at key
stage 4. They complement QCA'a 2003 guidance. Work-relateed
learning for all at key stage 4: guidanc for implementing
the statutory requirement from 2004.
The pack comprises:
Guidance for school
coordinators, which answers some key questions about work-related
learning and introduces the other materials in the pack.
Ensuring quality, which includes sets of
criteria for quality in work-related activities and programmes
A set of 13 leaflets for curriculum subjects
in key stage 4, showing how teachers can support work-related
learning through their subject teaching
Audit tools, which includes a set of proformas
to help schools assess their current provision.
Maximising learning from work-related experiences,
showing how to structure work-related activities
Working with employers, giving guidance
on involving business and community partners in work-related
learning.
