Mathematics and Philosophy - UMAA-GV17
Course Requirements
Candidates must satisfy the University’s General Entrance Requirements and must possess an ‘A’ level pass in Mathematics or the equivalent.
Scheme of Study
Three years full-time study leading to the degree of BSc (Honours) or BA (Honours) in Mathematics and Philosophy or of BSc (Pass) or BA (Pass) in Mathematics and Philosophy (UCAS course no. GV15).

Examination Scheme
Candidates who fail to submit assessed work for modules given by the Department of Philosophy by the specified date are required to sit the appropriate invigilated examination. Third and fourth year Mathematics modules taught in the Autumn term are examined in April, as are MA244 Analysis III, MA251 Algebra I: Advanced Linear Algebra, MA231 Vactor Analysis and MA241 Combinatorics. The remaining Mathematics modules are examined in June. The weightings for each year are as follows: Year 1 - 10% Year 2 - 40% Year 3 - 50%
