Perdita woman: Henrietta Lindsay

Henrietta Lindsay was the daughter of Lady Anna Mackenzie and Alexander Lindsay, first earl of Balcarres (1618-1659). Her mother's second husband was Archibald Campbell, ninth earl of Argyll. Henrietta herself married into an important cadet line of the Campbells. Her husband, Sir Duncan Campbell, 4th Bart., of Auchinbreck, joined Argyll's rebellion in 1685, and fled into exile, where Henrietta joined him. Her journal tells of her relationships with ministers at the Scots Kirk, Rotterdam, especially Robert Fleming primus.
